The Mac is a tool. It can be whatever you need it to be at the time. It can be your creative expression, it can be your calling card, it can be your job.
As a professional skateboarder, my Mac is my communication tool. It's my entertainment center. It's where I can be creative. It's everything. It's the one thing that I can't travel without.
If I didn't have my PowerBook on the road, I'd be lost. I'd have no e-mails, I'd have no music, I'd have no movies. I'd have no way to edit. I'd be lost. I'd be sitting in hotel rooms with my thumbs twiddling
On a professional level, we use Final Cut Pro for all of our skate videos, all of the editing, all the music, all the effects.
Why Apple? Because Apple is the easiest. It's the most intuitive. It's the best to look at, which is a lot of fun too.
Apple set the standard in making computers fun. And making a computer a piece of artwork instead of just a boring grey box. Beyond that, the operating system and programs, they're all intuitive, everything works together. It's easy. If you know how to use a computer, you can use a Mac.
The iPod is the consummate musical tool. Mine is always in my car. It's always with me on the road. I have a play list that I'll play when I'm skating. If there's a stereo system there, I'll just plug it in.
It's funny, I've got a home theater and sound system with a rack of amps and dish satellite, DVD, laser disk, you name it, in this huge armoire. And then I've got a stereo mini-jack coming out of it to plug into the iPod for music around the house.
So, it's a conglomerate of electronics with driven by the iPod through this little tiny jack.
I've got the 10 gig, and I've got it engraved. It says, “Boom, boom, bling, bling.” Boom, Boom is a tour that we're doing, and Bling, Bling is just bling, bling. It's a hip hop thing.
